Wanted: College educated employees to work at Walmart. Walmart says they will subsidize their employees’ tuition costs, if they will go to college. The store seems to be following the pattern of other stores, even McDonald’s, which seems to have taken a new interest in employees’ further education. Walmart is facing a tight labor market and competition for the best talent is intensifying. Is it about time
Walmart cared more for its employees with education? Or is further education even necessary for it’s workers?

The rumor mill buzz in Arizona is that the Governor is contemplating appointing Cindy McCain to replace John McCain as US Senator. It may sound odd, but when Senator McCain passes, the job of US Senator from Arizona may fall to his wife—because the governor makes that call until a gubernatorial election winner holds the office. Do you think it’s obvious John McCain is urging the
Governor to appoint is wife? If so, why?

Interview: Andrew Louden, Business Turnaround Expert. Topic: Some NFL players will stay in the locker room during the National Anthem, some will come out and stand for the anthem ahead of the game. Those who stay behind and are tardy to the field will get booed. How will the NFL’s changes really shake out for fans and for profits?  It all comes down to the fans!

Odd  . . .  liberal writer and Obama fan, Maureen Dowd, has now come to criticize the former president in her new NYT column. Why? Because she has come to realize that Obama is too “hip” for the people. Too much of a visionary, too forward-thinking, too progressive! The people “bought his stick” during the first term, but then he backed Hillary, who had no economic plan, who was riddled with ethical issues, and who was a lazy campaigner. Why did he do this? Now, his legacy is getting blown up by Trump! How
smart was he, really?
