Sports Betting—bet on it. The Supreme Court has now paved the way for the states to handle sports betting on their own. It stuck down a ban which was in place for most of the states since 1992. Now, most analysts believe sports betting will begin to soar, and the states will find a way to make money off it. Do you see more gambling addicts in-the-making? Do you see more crime a-coming?
The “Be Best” Campaign. Melania Trump has laid out a first lady role for herself to encourage kids online not to bully, but rather to earn positive online behaviors. She’s also encouraging them to stay away from opioids. She stressed three pillars for health: motional, social and physical. With these things in mind, she launched “Be Best.” What do you think of this campaign? Did she go not far enough? Too far? Just right?
Interview: Nicole Neily, President and Founder of “Speech First.” Topic:There is now a team in place on universities called the Bias Response Team, set to take incident reports on students’ observation of bias on campus. When bias occurs, the student contacts the Bias Response Team and reports an incident. This door swings both ways.
China recently gifted a giant sculpture of Karl Marx to his birth town of Trier, Germany to commemorate Marx’s 200th birthday. No surprise China would spend the bucks to build a 16 foot high bronze sculpture to honor the founder of Communism. But why would a German town want to accept such a sculpture given their war history with Russia? German historian, Rudiger Overman, estimates three out of four Germans killed in action during WWII died on the Eastern Front. That’s a lot given the total German military dead is estimated to be 5,318,000 for the WWI. What were they thinking?
