The trouble with Special Counsels: Robert Mueller is the special counsel who was assigned by Rod Rosenstein (Ass’t AG) to investigate Russian meddling in the US elections. He has broad reach in this job and deep pockets. So far, he has ordered raids on Paul Manafort, and prompted the raid on Michael Cohen (President Trump’s personal lawyer), but has no evidence of Team Trump members and collusion. Nor does there appear to be evidence of obstruction of justice. Recently, a Federal judge slapped Mueller back for overreach in that he is outside the boundaries of the Russia probe? How long will it take before folks take aim at Judge Ellis to impugn his character and reputation?

Finland’s pilot program. implemented earlier this year, paid nearly 2,000 randomly-chosen unemployed Finnish people a monthly check of about $685 (US dollars) with no conditions. The program was set to expand to include working people. The hope was that the extra money would fuel the economy and innovation. No dice. It seems that while the monthly check helped relieve stress, but it didn’t get the unemployed working again. Are you surprised?
