Topics & Guest – May 5, 2018 – Show #1 Entertainer Bill Cosby, now thrice a convicted felon, holds over 60 honorary degrees from US colleges and universities—some of which are very prestigious, such as Yale. An honorary degree is generally conferred on a public figure for giving a commencement speech at graduation. But since his conviction, several of those schools have rescinded the degree. Are you in favor of rescinding degrees? Are you in favor of honorary degrees in the first place? Do we have a Nomenklatura in the United States? Nomenklatura is a term that refers to a category of people the Communist Party approves and appoints to positions of high authority. But now, here in America, people like Robert Mueller, James, Comey and Loretta Lynch are being referred to as the Nomenklatura of the political Left—running the country’s activities. After all, the Left’s Nomenklatura have been running all spheres of our country’s activities (government, industry, agriculture and education) for decades now. Might there be any truth to this analysis given the voracity of the governmental bureaucratic attacks on President Trump (and those that support him) on a daily basis? Interview:   Canceled. Stephen Moore, Economist, Formerly of the WSJ, now with Heritage Institute. Moore is one of President Trump’s economic advisers. Topic: Tax Cuts and Tariffs. NOTE; Mr. Moore was unable to be present for the interview. In contrast to studies there are about how many Americans are killed by guns, there aren’t as many studies about how many Americans use guns in self-defense and live. One study, though, was conducted by the government office of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) but never published. According to Paul Hsieh, a contributing writer for Forbes Magazine, “a 2013 study ordered by the CDC and conducted by The National Academies’ Institute of Medicine guns by crime victims is a common occurrence. Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, (estimates of annual use range from about 500,000 to more than 3 million, in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in 2008”). Do you think this information would persuade more Americans to support the Second Amendment.
