Would you call it effective diplomacy to identify the sister of Kim Jong Un, “North Korea’s Ivanka Trump”? That’s how CNN breathlessly described Kim Yo-jong,  lauding  her performance at the Olympics by   tweeting “If ‘diplomatic dance’ were an event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un’s younger sister would be favored to win gold. With a smile, a handshake and a warm message in South Korea’s presidential guest book, Kim Yo Jong has struck a chord with the public just one day into the PyeongChang Game”.  What in the world motivates an American media giant to gush over a  monstrous woman who fills the position of Deputy Director of Propaganda and Agitation in a shockingly cruel and murderous dictatorship? Yet, their journalists did report the story about Ji Seong-ho, the disabled North Korean  Yet, no over-the- top verbal gushing hyperbole for a rave North Korean, Ji Seong-ho, who was honored at  the President’s State of the Union address  for his unbelievable courage  to escape  North Korea for the promise of freedom. No, that kind of CNN reverie is saved for Kim Jong Un’s smiling sister.  Tra la, tra la. How can CNN not align her likeable Olympic performance  with her her  true performance in the failed public food distribution program that resulted in millions of  her her countrymen starving to death . . .  not to mention the hundreds of thousands citizens who’ve been callously tortured and killed  in her family’s  labor camps? Why would an American media GIANT gush over this woman?

There’s a petition circulating online which has almost 100,000 signatures and which calls for food stamps to include pet food. Presently this is verboten, as is alcohol or any item that is not, well… food. But the petitioners say they don’t have enough money to feed their pets, so they want the rules changed. Good idea? But what if your pet eats like a horse?

Interview:  Debra Asberry, Author, Travel Expert, Founder and President of Women Traveling Together. Topic: How women (who have husbands and boyfriends who don’t want to travel and instead want to be couch potatoes watching sports) can travel with other women with ease and safety.

Have women trained men NOT to be gentlemen?  In the days of Gloria Steinem and the early feminist movement, it was considered an insult if a man opened the door for a woman. Why? Because it was an action that implied she didn’t have the ability to do it herself – in other words, she was being treated like a helpless child. Since then, other actions of manners and politeness from men towards women
have been tossed, and many men say they’re confused  They say they don’t know the contemporary social or cultural clues to follow. They not certain as to how to behave so as to not “step on women’s toes.” Do we need more gentlemen in our society, who do things the old fashioned ways to conduct themselves or should American women look no further than in the mirror for reasons why there’s a lack of
chivalry from men today?
