Obamacare Implodes! Pres. Trump is now threatening a move to end all subsidies for the insurance companies associated with Obamacare. This will put the final nail in the coffin for ACA. Naturally, insurers are distressed, as they’ll lose between 20 to 25 BILLION subsidy dollars. But the Government Accountability Office deems these payments illegal anyway, because the subsidy money is demanded from taxpayers to help the enrollees on the exchange whose incomes are below the poverty line. On the flip side, a huge group of Americans are furious with Congress for not replacing ACA with something else. As it implodes, it leaves millions without insurance at all. Are you in the camp who believes the government should be in health care because so many are uninsured and that Americans have a right to health services designed by the government? Or, do you think a Trump decision not to authorize more “cost sharing” payments to insurers is a good thing? So, far Senate Republicans have failed to repeal, and they have failed to replace.
Could a bus with sleep pods replace airplanes? Read this link below for discussion. The American public says they’re sick of airplane travel, and Amtrak train tickets are even more expensive when going to and from certain well-traveled destinations. So, they want a means of transportation that takes them to and fro without feeling tired and broke! What about a bus that leaves on time AND gives you a pod in which to sleep? Back to the future?
Interview: Beverly Goldstein, PhD, Cleveland Chapter of Act for America. Topic: Latest attempt to repeal the Iran deal. Can we repeal it, too, and replace it with something else, or will repeal be enough?
Veterans are still condemning Jane Fonda. Last month, 50 American Vets protested her speaking engagement at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Maryland. Over the years, she has apologized However, she says she still “regrets sitting on an enemy aircraft gun position” calling it a betrayal, and “ [it was] the largest lapse of judgment that I can even imagine.” She argues now that her two week Hanoi relationship with the Viet Cong was never about being against our soldiers, but rather she was for ending the war. However, she did 19 broadcasts on Radio Hanoi that discouraged our troops. She was also young at the time to have her presence (and photos) internationally associated with the enemy. Do you think Jane Fonda has been unfairly labeled a “traitor?” Or rather that she can’t be trusted or forgiven because a tiger never changes its stripes?
