Mother Teresa becomes Saint Teresa: The world admires her for her charity, but also for her entrepreneurial spirit in founding her own order of nuns in Calcutta. She was highly ambitious and had rugged individualism and saw each in poverty as a unique person. She spoke against the State being the vehicle to serve the poor, but rather the individual (you and me) should help and be the service agent to the poor, disenfranchised, and neglected. She embodied what our Founding Fathers espoused. Yet, so many on the political left want the State (through the taxpayer) to be the safety net over charitable giving, personal love, and individual altruism to the needy. Discuss.
