Does America really believe in forgiveness and redemption? A former felon did his time, cleaned up his act and vowed to turn his life around. After leaving jail, he went to Yale and from there, passed the bar to become a lawyer. But now, he faces scrutiny in his bid to practice law. If someone does the crime, and does the time, isn’t his life back on a level playing field going forward? He doesn’t get a “do over” in life, but if he pays his debt to society, doesn’t he get a clean slate going forward? Why the scrutiny?
Illinois Lawmakers Vote to Make ;Barack Obama Day a State Holiday. Folks in Illinois must think very highly of our ex-Presidentso much so they have considered a state holiday in his name. It would be “Barack Obama Day.” Never mind that the state has a very high crime rate, (crime is particularly high in Chicago), and a high unemployment rate. Still, they say Obama deserves it for all he’s done for the Windy City and the state of Lincoln. Do you agree? Why? Why not?
